Aerojet Rocketdyne in Redmond, Washington develops and manufactures propulsion products used on satellites, space probes and other spacecraft. We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Operations Manager to join our team to oversee our chemical assembly area.
Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)
30% - Provides direction to assembly team based on general policies and management guidelines. Ensures staffing has adequate skillset for current and future business needs. Ensures all special process certifications and required training is up to date at all times.
20% - Plans and coordinates integrated schedules for personnel, material and facilities utilization that are consistent with the annual operating plan for the business for both first and second shift.
15% - Provides technical and administrative leadership on issues that come up in the assembly area or in areas that have impact to the assembly of chemical propulsion.
15% - Establishs and maintains assembly operating budget.
10% - Ensures the facility is available to support production schedules. Coordinates all necessary maintenance with proper channels. Keeps all facility equipment calibrations, certifications, and maintenance up to date.
10% - Supports and implements improvements in the area that are consistent with business needs, company initiatives, and capital investments for the area.
Requires a Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline and nine years of progressive experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Applicants with an equivalent combination of education and experience are encouraged to apply. Experience in supervising or managing a team is preferred.
US Citizenship required. Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.

May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
